Flossbach von Storch AG was established in 1998 by Bert Flossbach and Kurt von Storch. The business was launched on 1 March 1999. The company originally specialised in the management of private assets. Its clients include many wealthy private individuals, fund investors and institutional investors. However, most of the funds entrusted to us are now managed within the Flossbach von Storch mutual funds portfolio.
Flossbach von Storch is one of the leading independent asset managers in Germany – and continues to be owner-operated by its founders and senior executives. Approximately 190 colleagues look after assets of more than EUR 36 billion.
We are personified by our multi-asset approach, which is part of our corporate DNA. We receive and grow assets by spreading them across different asset classes. It makes no difference whether an investor entrusts us with millions of euros or deposits EUR 50 a month into a fund savings plan. We feel the same responsibility to both.
We see ourselves as partners working with people who want to take charge of their own destiny – and take care of their private finances. They recognise that wealth accumulation and management help investors to more successfully achieve their personal goals. We are committed to our investors' goals, regardless of the amount of capital entrusted to us.
Our investment philosophy follows five major guidelines: diversification, flexibility, quality, solvency and value. These five principles, represented clearly in our Flossbach von Storch pentagram, form the basis for all of our funds and mandates. Our world view, to be independent and free from third party influence, forms the basis of our investment strategy; a strategy that is active, business-like and takes account of different asset classes. The opportunities offered by an investment must always be significantly greater than the risks.
