The Flossbach von Storch - Bond Defensive is an actively managed and broadly diversified bond fund. It comprises bonds from various economic areas and bond types. We invest a maximum of 5 per cent of the fund's assets in the securities of a single issuer. We also avoid excessive concentration of bonds from the same sectors, credit qualities and regions.
The investment strategy
The Flossbach von Storch - Bond Defensive investment fund is a global bond fund. It fulfils the role of a defensive component in a portfolio. The focus is on absolute return, i.e. positive performance over time. The primary objectives are predictable returns and avoiding excessive setbacks in turbulent market phases.
Our commercially oriented investment strategy helps us to achieve this goal. We only invest when we can assess all possible risks – and the opportunities outweigh them.
The fund manager
Marcel Bross has been a portfolio manager and analyst at Flossbach von Storch since 2021. He previously worked as a senior portfolio manager at Universal Investment. From 2006 to 2018, the pension expert was employed as a bond trader and interest rate strategist at Dresdner Kleinwort / Commerzbank. He completed his studies in economics at the University of Konstanz.
